TO PREPARE THE CONFERENCE, PLEASE COMPLETE HERE ANONYMOUSLY – OUR SURVEY

deadline until November 05, 2023

The primary aim of this survey is to identify the current positioning of AI in the area of social security. We gather insights and opinions from stakeholders with diverse perspectives and experiences related to the integration of AI technologies in social security.
The findings from this survey will contribute to the development of policy recommendations for the trustworthy integration of AI in social security. Your participation will help us to tailor these recommendations to the expectations and experiences represented in the sector.

If you have any questions or technical requirements, please do not hesitate to contact  Anastasiya Kiseleva – Anastasiya.Kiseleva@vub.be

For those who have not yet had the chance to participate, we can also provide additional support for clarifying questions if you have any. We provide a brief webinar to be held by Anastasiya Kiseleva on October 30 at 18.00 (Monday), where you could pose your questions and receive the necessary clarifications.

1972-2022 EUMASS 50th ANNIVERSARY

In 2022, EUMASS celebrates its 50th anniversary in a festive way, followed by a jubilee congress in 2023 in Strasbourg.

In fact, on 17 March 1972 in Orléans, France, at a meeting of French medical officers, the French medical director, Dr Claude Persignan, and a Belgian observer, Dr René Rénard, discussed the idea of an organisation of medical officers from the countries of the then common market (European Economic Community (EEC): Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and West Germany) to promote scientific and social exchanges between the Member States. The idea of EUMASS was born and met with an enthusiastic response from doctors specialising in social insurance. In 1972, a dozen or so colleagues from the six countries set up the first UEMASS Council in Leuven (BE).

These founding countries were joined over the years, in alphabetical order, by Austria, Bosnia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

On 23 September 2022, we organised a festive academic session at the Palais des Académies in Brussels.

The new logo, adopted by the General Meeting in Trondheim, was presented in public for the first time.

While taking on the colours of the old logo, the new one retains the idea of the medical caduceus and the snakes that wrap themselves in perfect friendship around the crown of stars, symbolising for everyone the European Union and the (social) protection it offers to all its citizens. A strand of DNA can also be seen, marking the scientific side of UEMASS. All in all, a fine symbol pointing the way to a bright future.
